“Fashions from the Earth…Passion for the Youth” –Fashion Show – Sunday April 10th, 2011
Anguilla’s Fashion landscape is about to experience a revolutionary, creative explosion of Fashion at the chic Coba Restaurant location at Viceroy Resorts and Residences. “Fashions from the Earth…. Passion for the Youth” will be presented by the dynamic Runway Anguilla on Sunday April 10th 2011 from 12:30pm – 4pm. The generous cadre of corporate support headlines Viceroy Resort & Residences as Platinum Sponsor and LIME, Cape Air and ix Cosmetics (out of St. Martin) as Supporting Headline Sponsors.
The spotlight for year’s event highlights the valuable community-based thrust being spearheaded at the various after-school youth centers around the island, in addressing key youth needs in the areas of Blowing Point, North Hill, Island Harbour/Welches, East End and The Little Dix/Stoney Ground and surrounding areas. Community activists have already galvanized efforts in launching and operating volunteer-based after-school programs assisting students with literacy, numeracy and other academic areas, complemented by the services of counseling, guidance and overall personal development support. Runway Anguilla is partnering with these centers to attract awareness and funding for these valuable pillars of strength in our community.
Fashions from the Earth…Passion for the Youth will showcase our fabulous boutiques including – Viceroy Boutique, N Vie, In Style, Irie Life and ZaZaa. An exquisite range of clothing, jewelry, bags, hats and other accessories will make a grand entrance on the fashion carpet.
Our Fashion Visionaries have woven together an innovative blend of human interest themes, which are explored and presented through bold statements of fashion. The Surprise Grand Finale promises the unexpected and the unparalleled! The fashion stage will feature one-of-a-kind, custom designs and creations from top Eco Designers from Anguilla, St Martin and Montserrat. FeelO’Je, TheoChris, Wired, Bevil Byam, Kassel Designz, Jaine Rogers, Isabelle Souccar, Klassique Academy of Dance and Shavaun Crawford will let their imaginations run freely, as they showcase their various artforms – capturing interpretations of the themes of nature, environmental sensitivity, eco-lifestyles, indigenous roots of the Caribbean and community camaraderie.
An exciting array of Silent Auction items will be yours for the taking at excellent value, featuring the best of Anguilla’s dining experiences, spa treatments, day trips to offshore cays, airline tickets, rounds of golf and upscale hotel stays. Music will be provided by the ever popular DJ Jeanie.
We are delighted to partner with the Anguilla Renewable Energy Office, in incorporating awareness about green initiatives and eco-living in Anguilla. This Fashion Show will proudly incorporate various elements of environmentally friendly choices – from the organic fashions on stage, to the behind-the-scenes operations.
