Brantford, ON? Jake?s Gift, a multi award-winning Canadian play will be
performing in Brantford, ON at the Sanderson Centre for the Performing
Arts on Monday October 19, 2009, 1:30 & 7:00 p.m.

Jake?s Gift is a surprisingly funny drama about 80-year-old Jake, a World
War II veteran who reluctantly returns to Normandy, France, for the 60th
Anniversary of the D-Day invasion. While revisiting the beach he landed on
sixty years earlier, Jake encounters 10-year-old Isabelle, a precocious
local girl whose inquisitive nature and charm challenge the old soldier to
confront some long-ignored ghosts.

In 2004, Julia traveled to Normandy, France, for the 60th Anniversary of
D-Day. While there, she interviewed dozens of WW2 veterans from Canada,
Britain and America who had returned for the ceremonies.

Since 2007, Vancouver based actress and playwright Julia Mackey has been
performing her multi-character one-woman show to rave reviews and standing
ovations at festivals & theatres across the country.
