LOVIN’ THAT LOCAL FLAVOUR!
FlavourFest featured at Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show
Simcoe, ON – The Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show, Ontario’s largest rural fair, will once again thrill the 100,000-plus visitors expected to pass through their gates. The Fair opens Tuesday, October 6th and runs through Thanksgiving weekend.
One of the main attractions at the fair is the award-winning FlavourFest event which showcases twenty-seven of Norfolk County’s farmers, producers and growers. Their products are brought together under one roof to allow visitors sampling, a one-stop shopping experience and to illustrate the diversity of products that Norfolk County has to offer year-round. Products include peanuts, apples, cider, cheese, sweet potatoes, maple syrup, popcorn, lavender and more.
Part of this year’s FlavourFest program will once again feature celebrity chefs from The Food Network – Chef Massimo Capra of Restaurant Makeover, Chef Chuck Hughes of Chuck’s Day Off and Chef Laura Calder of French Food at Home. Each chef will be cooking and entertaining the crowds using ONLY Norfolk County foods. As well, Norfolk County’s Official Food Ambassadors, The Two Fairly Fat Guys will be on-hand with their own demonstrations and to share the stage with the celebrity chefs.
Norfolk County offers unique experiences to its visitors while they travel throughout “Ontario’s South Coast”. Scenic drives along Lake Erie, birding, agri-tourism, festivals heritage and culture are areas of interest with tourists.
