Cider Keg of Norfolk County to feed G20 leaders

One of Norfolk County’s leading food suppliers, The Cider Keg of Vittoria, will be among the featured Canadian culinary offerings at the Toronto G20 Summit later this month.

Leaders at the Toronto G20 Summit will be enjoying The Cider Keg’s Sparkling Apple Strawberry Rhubarb Cider. The G20 is a gathering of leaders from the world’s most advanced and emerging economies.

“The Cider Keg is very excited to be featured at the G20 summit and to bring our award-winning Cider Keg sparkling cider to the international community,” said Cheryl Peck, Manager of The Cider Keg.

Uncle Tom’s Farm Inc. and The Cider Keg is a fourth-generation family-owned farm business. On the family farm, the finest quality Norfolk County apples are cultivated and grown. Harvested at their peak, the apples travel from the orchards to the cider mill where the perfect blend of apples are combined to make cider.

“With our inclusion in the G20 Summit, The Cider Keg is bringing the best of Norfolk County to the world stage,” said Mayor Dennis Travale. “Norfolk County is very proud of the many innovative farmers and food suppliers that are located in our community.”

Norfolk County is Ontario’s leading grower of apples, asparagus, cabbage, cucumbers, ginseng, peanuts, pumpkins, green onions and shallots, squash and zucchini, strawberries, sweet corn and sweet potatoes, according to Statistics Canada.
