October 8, 2009. (St. George’s, Grenada, WI)—Although the fall
season has just commenced, Grenada continues to heat things up
with a line-up of new developments designed to enhance the
upcoming ‘sun destination’ season for visitors. They are as
follows:
New Hiking Trail Opens
Visitors to Grenada now have an additional trail upon which they
can hike, that opened in September 2009. This is the newly
commissioned Morne Longue Fedon’s Camp eco-tourism attraction
developed and funded by the United Nations Trust Fund for human
security to restore livelihoods in a post Ivan and Emily context.
The new trail allows visitors to experience a wide range of birds
in their natural habitat, monkeys, picturesque views of the
Eastern seascape, and the ruins of Fedon Camp. Training of
persons within the community is being planned so that direct
benefits can accrue to the residents of the Morne Lounge
community.
Port Louis/Camper & Nicholson
The Port Louis Marina and Creole Village that opened on January
4, 2008, continues apace with phase six of its construction of
berth spaces along the Lagoon in St. George’s. Its main focus is
to add to its present compliment of 50 berths. By the end of 2009
in time for the new winter season, an additional 120 berths to
accommodate yachts ranging in size from 15 to 90 metres will
constructed. Marina General Manager Clyde Rawls said, “We are
currently building our flagship marina here in Grenada. It will
have facilities and amenities that will be second to none. With
careful consideration of unique surroundings, the marina is
designed to reflect local heritage while providing the very best
in international style and luxury.”
Grenada Based Ferry Issues Travel Schedule
October 19, 2009 is the date being promoted for the commencement
of a ferry service that will link Grenada to the neighbouring
territories of Barbados, Trinidad, St. Vincent and St. Lucia.

accommodate 260 passengers. It is owned and operated by BEDY
