MIAMI ATTRACTIONS PROGRAM CELEBRATES A SECOND YEAR – October is Miami’s Attraction month! For the second consecutive year, The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is running an amazing program offering tourists and locals discounts on admission to the city’s countless attractions (valid October 1-31). VILLAGE OF MERRICK PARK SHOWS OFF ITS GROOVE – Village of Merrick Park kicks off its LIVE music series inviting patrons to enjoy a multicultural mix of melodies in The Garden. Guests can relax and take in the sounds of Jazz, Bossanova, World Music, Flamenco, Classics, Pop Melodies, Contemporary and Latin Grooves. Shoppers can listen to light musical stylings while also enjoying the many features the shopping center has to offer including world-class boutiques, fine dining and light bites. UNIQUE RESTAURANT ARRIVES TO CORAL GABLES – Seasons 52, the popular fresh grill and wine bar, will debut its first Miami location at 321 Miracle Mile in Coral Gables on November 15, 2010. WYNWOOD ART PARK EVOLVES – Wynwood Walls, an exciting outdoor Art Park, featuring 15 murals by 23 internationally respected artists will be evolving to better serve the locals, tourists and art community. The Art Park, which took root as a collaboration between Tony Goldman, of Goldman Properties, and Jeffrey Deitch of Deitch Projects, launched during Art Basel 2009, and remains open to the public, free of charge, and serves as a focal point of Wynwood’s cultural center. Wynwood Walls showcases the vibrant global medium of street art and was curated to enhance the cultural experience in Miami. The first phase of Wynwood Walls encompassed murals by artists from Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States. Phase 2 of The Walls will begin in November 2010 with the opening of the artful Wynwood Kitchen & Bar (WKB). This hip restaurant and bar will be located at the opposite corner of the Art Park boasting an al fresco dining area in the outdoor Art Park, and indoor murals by Shepard Fairey and Christian Awe. It will offer innovative contemporary cuisine and world class art. In 2011, the Walls will more than double in number with a minimum of 15 newly commissioned wall murals and expand to the contiguous property to the West, creating an even larger Art Park for guests to enjoy. CORAL GABLES ART CINEMA MAKES IT DEBUT – The new Coral Gables Art Cinema debuting October 15th, 2010 is positioned to become an important destination for film lovers in Greater Miami and beyond with the most advanced technology of any stand-alone, nonprofit movie theater in the region. The cinema provides 144 stadium-configured seats, and a comfortable, intimate space in the heart of Coral Gables’ cultural district. Longtime film industry leader Steven Krams is the founder and president of the Coral Gables Cinemateque, Inc., the nonprofit that runs the cinema, which was developed in partnership with the city of Coral Gables, Magna-Tech Electronic Co. and the Coral Gables Community Foundation.
