“CAST” YOUR VOTE FOR PORT ROWAN

Port Rowan makes short list vying for title of Ultimate Fishing Town in Canada

Port Rowan, ON – Once again, one of the towns of Norfolk County has been short-listed to be a winner – this time, Port Rowan for the title of the Ultimate Fishing Town in Canada – a contest being conducted by the World Fishing Network.

The winner of the contest will win $25,000 for community development as well as a 30-minute television episode filmed right in their home town.

Daniel Roy, a resident of Long Point who loves to fish in Long Point Bay on Lake Erie was the initial nominator of Port Rowan.  “Anglers from far and wide come here to take advantage of the unbelievable bass fishing but on the whole it is a relatively unknown destination for perch, northern pike, largemouth bass, walleye and rainbow trout at various times throughout the year – we need to change that and let people know that this is one of the greatest spots in Canada for fishing – it is an anglers paradise”, says Roy.

Port Rowan received 35 other nominations echoing Dan’s sentiments.  It is one of only four Ontario entries remaining in the competition and is looking for votes so they can create a fishing destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts.  Supporters can visit http://www.wfn.tv/ultimate-fishing-town/vote to cast their vote for Port Rowan.
