2016 Universal Forum of Cultures |
|
|
For the first time, the Forum will be cohosted by two cities: Québec City and Amman.
In its bid to host this international event, Québec City proposed basing Forum activities on a concrete and relevant theme: the culture of water. Starting in 2011, operation “Québec City: Watersmart by 2016” will be launched to encourage city residents to save water.
The Forum will run from July 3 to October 20, 2016. A number of cultural activities, such as shows and concerts, will take place during the summer, while several conferences, seminars and colloquiums will be organized for the fall. All of the activities on the program will be held in existing public spaces in downtown Québec City or in the boroughs.

The richness of this theme is illustrated with artifacts, ordinary objects, works of art, multimedia, and interactive activities.

Korrigane, a microbrewery located in Québec City’s Lower Town, is now in business. Beer lovers will appreciate the many fine products offered, all of which are brewed according to age-old tradition: red, white, pale or black beer, as well as blueberry- or maple-flavoured ales.
The chef at the Korrigane restaurant, which will soon open its doors, is hard at work preparing a menu that will match the right dish to the right beer.
