SUPERCLUBS LAUNCHES BREEZES BÚZIOS RESORT & SPA,
FIRST INTERNATIONAL STANDARD HOTEL IN BRAZIL’S LAKES REGION
HOLLYWOOD, FL, August 25, 2010 – Breezes Búzios Resort & Spa, the newest addition to SuperClubs’ international family of Super-Inclusive resorts, is now open for business. Located in Brazil’s popular beach resort town of Búzios in the famous state of Rio de Janeiro, the new hotel boasts a spectacular beach, elegant accommodations, one of Latin America’s largest swimming pools and countless activities for singles, couples and families of all ages.
Búzios, a peninsula in Southeastern Brazil two and a half hours north of Rio, is best known for its 20 naturally protected beaches. Once a small fishing village, the town was put on the map in the mid-1960’s by a visit from Brigitte Bardot, when the world-renowned actress and model traveled there with her Brazilian boyfriend.
“After 10 successful years with Breezes Costa do Sauipe in Northeastern Brazil, we decided to offer travelers a second SuperClubs experience with the opening of Breezes Búzios, the first international standard hotel in the charming Região Dos Lagos (Lakes Region),” said Xavier Veciana, Brazil SuperClubs CEO. “The exquisite location of the new resort, coupled with our Super-Inclusive amenities and activities provides guests endless opportunities to renew their energy, relax and have fun.”
Breezes Búzios’ architecture features rustic and modern elements in its ocean- and garden-view bungalow, guestroom and suite designs. Many of the 329 finely appointed accommodations boast exclusive comforts such as private pool access, balconies and Jacuzzi wet decks overlooking the sea.
From thrill-seeking teens to relaxed sun worshippers, guests of all ages and lifestyles will enjoy Breezes Búzios. Located on the 155-mile long Tucuns Beach, the resort offers a vast array of water sports including surfing, body boarding, sea fishing, snorkeling, water polo, water volleyball and aqua aerobics. Land sports also abound, with a three-lane bowling alley, archery center, climbing wall, aquatic pool cinema, circus trapeze, treetop walk, and roller-skating park designed by three-time world champion Sandro Dias.
The resort also features a stage for concerts, Kid’s Club, Teen’s Club, music bar, nightclub, game center, eight-hole mini-golf course, fitness center with Reebok equipment, outdoor gym, beach volleyball court, paddleball court and soccer field.
After breaking a sweat during yoga, or celebrating a victorious tennis match, guests seeking some downtime can reward themselves at the resort’s Hara Spa, a branch of the acclaimed São Paulo spa. The facility offers a wealth of relaxing massage and body treatments along with two hot tubs, a heated swimming pool, and wet and dry saunas.
The center of all the action is along the resort’s very own Stone Street, inspired by one of Búzios’ local architectural icons. Shopping, beauty services and international restaurants line the boulevard. Dining options include Munasan (Japanese), Martino’s (Italian), Jimmy’s (international buffet), Market Place, (Mediterranean), and Tropical (snack bar), all part of Breezes’ Super-Inclusive package.
Travelers looking to get off property and explore some local sites can sign up for a number of optional excursions (extra charges apply) including catamaran trips, 4×4 dunes adventures, river rafting, city tours and scuba diving expeditions.
For those with business to do, the resort has a 5,511 square foot convention center, with a capacity of up to 550 people. The space can be divided into four 1,378 square foot rooms, and another three smaller meetings rooms are available for groups up to 20. A business center with six computers is available, and all rooms have wireless Internet access.
Breezes Búzios takes environmental preservation very seriously. Beach, forest and sand dune recovery took place during the building process. A small garden was set up to grow seedlings for replanting native vegetation, which will be an ongoing effort at the hotel. Some sustainable materials were used in the resort’s construction (eucalyptus wood, bamboo), and water will be reclaimed and used in landscape irrigation. The resort, which will only do business with environmentally friendly suppliers, will also recycle organic waste and train employees on how to save energy and preserve the environment.
